The Genysis 3.0 is GREAT! I've never used the scope/gas attachments with it, but I find it very useful for use on a variety of vehicles, lots of information on tsb's, repairtrack, component locater/test information, etc. The determinator is good for checking/erasing codes quickly. In my opinion the Modis does GREAT with it's scope/meter abilities (havent used the gas analyzer), but is annoying and very limited with it's scanner abilities freezes, slow, limited datastream. I use the modis, the determinator, a tech 2 and genysis scan tool. I like it.it may not be perfect but it covers alot of Area. The ignition scope and 4 channel lab scope are kick ass also. It has a troubleshooter built in which does have SOME good info. Yes it has its pros and cons but look what it does.
I do love the portable five gas and the Pressure transducers for graphing fuel psi,oil psi or hydraulic pressure. My problem was that's the majority of the fleet that i work on 7.3ls. That software glitch has been fixed with the next update.
I had to put the modis in legacy software mode and tinker with the year to make it work. There have been times after doing a software update that i can no longer communicate with 7.3l powerstroke fords. It will lock up some times, however not that often now. In general I feel its just plain slow to read or display the data stream. The modis does have some annoying problems. I also have the Five gas emission analyzer and all the PSI transducers along with the high and low current probes. Thanks for any responses, even humorous ones. So is worth the asking price? There running a special where if I use there snap on credit I get like 1,200.00 in truck credit OH BOY! Any help is appreciated as I need to make a descision by thursday. I currently own the Solus but the screen is annoyingly small, I was looking to upgrade to the Modis but have heard some disturbing issues about software lockups and such, I also own a Determinator and really do like it it but as most here know there are things that one scanner will do that others wont. Snap-on Modis Ultra with latest 16.2 software, also includes Euro software.
